Buckwheat flour and Buckshots

Buckwheat is a high fiber, gluten free grain that is part of the rhubarb family!  We all know what buckwheat flour is (the milled grain), but what about Buckshots?

Buckshots is a product that makes buckwheat groats into a snack.  Goats are hulled whole grains–they’re a whole grain, and good for you because grouts contain all three components of the grain–the cereal germ, bran and endosperm.  If you’re familiar with kasha, then you know what a buckwheat groat is.  But you can’t snack on uncooked kasha, because it’s too hard!  And that’s why Buckshots buckwheat snacks were created.  They are kind of like corn nuts, but the buckwheat version.  Eat them straight from the bag, or use them to add crunch to salads, baked goods, yogurt, or your favorite cereal.

Buckshots are made in Manitoba by Stone Milled Specialty Grains–a multi-generational family farm and stone milling company based in rural Manitoba.
